LJT Builders were employed directly by South Western Railway to undertake the full renovation and refurbishment of the male, female, and DDA-compliant toilet facilities across all four platforms at Basingstoke Railway Station. The project also included the construction of a new accessible ramp leading to the disabled facilities, helping to ensure the station was both welcoming and fully functional for all users.

At LJT, our aim was to combine modern design with practicality, ensuring every aspect of the customer facilities contributed to a positive passenger experience.

Working closely with South Western Railway, we developed a design concept focused on comfort, accessibility, and hygiene. The refurbishment incorporated durable materials, modern fixtures, and energy-efficient lighting to create an attractive and functional environment for customers.

As part of the works, LJT carried out the full decommissioning and removal of the existing toilet facilities, installed a new open-grid ceiling system to improve natural light, and implemented water-saving technologies alongside energy-efficient systems to support a more sustainable future.

Through careful planning and close coordination with station operations, the refurbishment was completed with minimal disruption to railway services.
