LJT Builders were employed directly by Southwestern Railway to fully renovate and refurbish the male, female and disabled toilets across all four platforms at Basingstoke Railway Station, as well as the creation of a new disabled access ramp leading to the disabled facilities to ensure the site was both welcoming and functional. At LJT we aimed to blend modern design elements with practicality, ensuring that every aspect of the customer toilets contributes to a positive experience for the passengers using those facilities.
Working closely with Southwestern Railway, we developed a design concept that prioritised comfort, accessibility, and hygiene. The design incorporated durable materials, sleek fixtures, and energy-efficient lighting to create a modern and inviting atmosphere for customers.
As part of the project, LJT were fully responsible for the decommissioning and the removal of the existing customer toilets, the installation of a new open ceiling grid to increase natural light, and the installation of water-saving technologies and energy-efficient systems contributing to a greener future.
With meticulous planning and attention to detail, we executed the refurbishment project with minimal disruption to railway operations. Our skilled technicians and construction crew worked efficiently to install new plumbing, lighting, ventilation systems, and fixtures, ensuring the highest quality standards at every stage of the process.
